Animal of the week #4: Wombat

Wombats are marsupials. They are fuzzy-wuzzy and grow to 3 feet long. They eat grass and burrow underground. Like the koala, the wombat pouch is backwards, so the dirt doesn't get in the pouch when it digs. I saw this wombat at the Lone Pine Sanctuary. I hope I get to see more.

  1. Hi Clio,
Like the wombat. Is it like a cat? or more like a koala? Did you say it lives underground by furrowing?
The Animals of the week are coming steadily. I can't find Emil's blogs.

    Love, Papou.

    1. Hi Clio,
pretty weird animal. I looked him up, and apparently he is native of southeast Australia.
Seems like many interesting animals in Australia that
we don't have on the North American continent. Do you think the reason is because Australia is an isolated
continent/island? Hmmmm, some professor must know the
      answer.
      Many hugs and kisses, AYA

    2. Cool animal Clio. In my taekwondo's kumdo(Korean sword fighting) class one of my instructors does something called an angry wombat attack, so I wonder what they are like when they're angry. :)

  2. Hi Clio!

Great post about wombats! I love reading yours and Emil's posts.

Do you know if wombats are friendly?
