Hi! We and the students are staying at Moreton Bay Research Station on Stradbroke Island. Today we went to the mud flats during low tide. We found lots of cool fish,sea slugs and crabs. I found a star fish! When we were wading back to shore, I had to swim it was so deep.
If you have any places or animals in Brisbane you'd like to see, let me know and I will try to find them and post on them.

Two questions:
ReplyDelete1. Same as above. What is the animal in the tray, on the 3rd picture?
2. I never clearly understood the star fish. What we call star fish in America must be the shell. Where is the animal? Is the red one the body? Could you get a magnified picture; may be with explanation?
Are there sharks in those waters? Do they come this close to the shore? How careful do you have to be?

ReplyDeletethe water looks very clear such that you can see the bottom of the ocean. How marvelous! Is it warm water or cold (like in Maine? Brrr)
After you catch the various specimen, do you put them back in the water? Any turtles??
